Betzefer (Hebrew: בצפר) is a four-piece groove/metalcore band originating from Israel. The band was formed up in 1998 and is currently signed to Roadrunner Records. The band was first formed for a one-off school gig (and therefore named themselves 'Betzefer'). Everyone in the band except Roey Berman (the drummer) are currently active in the band Nail Within[1]. The band's major influence is Slayer, but Pantera and Sepultura are also credited as being major influences[2]. Betzefer means school (it consists of the words "bet" and "sefer").
Recently, the band was the opening act of the thrash metal band Megadeth's show in Israel, at July 2, 2007. |
